They don&#8217;t always cry, talk, or complain; often their body and behavior speak for them.<br\/>From <strong>neuroscience<\/strong>, we know that when a child is stressed, their brain is in &#8220;alert&#8221; mode and needs to feel safe to calm down.<br\/>And from <strong>attachment theory<\/strong>, we understand that the emotional presence of the adult is the most powerful tool to help the child return to calm.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Signs that your child might be stressed:<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Irritability, easy crying, or more frequent tantrums.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Headaches or stomachaches without a clear medical cause.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Difficulty concentrating or increased separation anxiety.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Regressive behaviors (talking like a younger child, asking to sleep with you, etc.).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Changes in sleep or appetite.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Here I share with you <strong>5 practical ways to help him regulate and strengthen the bond: he\/she might<\/strong> be stressed:<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:33.33%\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full is-style-default\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"304\" height=\"456\" data-id=\"2543\" src=\"https:\/\/feelingsandbeyond.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/el-estres-infantil_02-min.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2543\" srcset=\"https:\/\/feelingsandbeyond.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/el-estres-infantil_02-min.jpg 304w, https:\/\/feelingsandbeyond.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/11\/el-estres-infantil_02-min-200x300.jpg 200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 304px) 100vw, 304px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:66.66%\">\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"few-things-you-should-know\"><strong>1.  <strong><strong>Validate their emotion without trying to &#8220;fix&#8221; it right away<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>A &#8220;I know that was hard for you&#8221; activates the brain&#8217;s calming system more than any lecture or advice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"few-things-you-should-know\"><meta charset=\"utf-8\"\/><strong>2.  <strong><strong>Take connection breaks<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Dedicate 10 minutes daily without distractions to play, talk, or simply be together. Daily connection recharges their emotional security.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"few-things-you-should-know\"><meta charset=\"utf-8\"\/><strong>3.  <strong><strong>Use the body to calm the body<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Breathing together, jumping, offering a little massage, stretching, or using a weighted blanket helps release physical tension and lower the activation of the nervous system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"few-things-you-should-know\"><strong>4. <span>Put words to what you feel<\/span><\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Naming emotions (\u201cit seems you&#8217;re frustrated\u201d) helps integrate the two hemispheres of the brain and regain emotional control.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h6 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"few-things-you-should-know\"><strong>5. Model calm<\/strong><\/h6>\n\n\n\n<p>Children don&#8217;t learn self-regulation from what we say, but from how they see us regulate ourselves.
