How parents can streamline their children’s therapeutic treatment
Dear parents,
I would like to take a moment to share with you the importance of confidentiality in the therapeutic process and how parents can streamline their children’s therapeutic treatment by providing the type of support that benefits them most.
In therapy, confidentiality creates a safe space where children can express themselves freely. When a child knows that their thoughts and feelings will be respected and not shared without their permission, they can develop trust — both in their therapist and in themselves. That trust is fundamental to emotional and personal progress.
As parents, your role is essential. Here are some ways you can support your child and help streamline their therapeutic process:

1. Foster a safe environment at home
Speak positively about therapy and remind your child that this space is for learning and growing, not for being judged or corrected.
2. Avoid pushing for details
Instead of asking “What did you talk about today?”, you can say “How do you feel after your session?” If you feel it is necessary to ask more, do so sensitively; but if you do not consider it essential, allow your child to approach you when they are ready to share.
3. Maintain communication with the therapist
If you observe changes at home or have concerns, share them. Your perspective helps the therapist better understand the context and support the process without breaking the child’s trust.
4. Model openness and emotional regulation
Children learn by observing. When you express your emotions in a healthy way, they also learn to do so.
5. Recognize small achievements
Progress in therapy happens little by little. Celebrate every effort, even the most subtle ones.
Remember:
Therapeutic treatment is most effective when there is collaboration between the child, the parents, and the therapist, each contributing something unique to the process of growth and emotional well-being.
Thank you for trusting our team to accompany your child on this path. Your support and understanding make a big difference.
